Breaking news : President and AK Party Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made a statement at the AK Party Economic Affairs Directorate Training Program held at his party's headquarters.
The highlights from President Erdoğan's statements are as follows:
- My valued companions on this path and our cause, I extend my most heartfelt greetings. I hope that both yesterday's workshop and today's program will be beneficial for our country and our nation.
- There's no room for stubbornness with the people. This principle has remained unchanged for 24 years. Everything we've done so far has been done with the same sensitivity. We've acted with an approach that consults at every level and listens to diverse opinions. We will continue to pursue our policies along the same lines.
- We are a team that doesn't leave our words to mere words or squandering our time. We are building Türkiye's future. I wholeheartedly believe that when you return to your home provinces, each of you will strive even harder, aware of the burden on your shoulders.
- The global economy has yet to recover from the shock it experienced with the pandemic. Inflation, which has reached its peak globally, continues to plague many countries. Even countries that have made some progress in combating inflation remain cautious. Add to this the heated conflicts unfolding in our region.
- The escalating tariff tension between the US and China is also putting additional pressure on the global economy.
- Yesterday, we took a significant step toward ending the Gaza genocide, which has been a bleeding wound in our region for the last two years. As leaders, we demonstrated a strong resolve. I hope the four-party declaration will be another milestone on the path to lasting peace. Thank God, today, even though it's heartbreaking, children in Gaza are smiling. Mothers can send their children out into the streets without fear of bombs for the first time in two years. Aid workers are performing prayers of gratitude. Just seeing this is a blessing for us.
- It will perhaps never be possible to erase the devastation of the genocide, which left behind 68,000 martyrs, more than 170,000 injured, destroyed cities, and orphans and children.
- There's a period of construction and a period of revitalization. Türkiye also has a significant responsibility here. Türkiye also has a significant responsibility. Now, we must be a lifeline for our brothers and sisters in Gaza. With this understanding, we will closely monitor every stage of the process.

- We are launching a crucial project to address the ongoing high rents and housing prices. From now on, the government will handle the planning for rent. Citizens will rent for themselves, and there will be no exploitation of citizens with high rents. The government will initiate a process of affordable rentals through its own social housing projects. With this project, we will build 500,000 social housing units in all 81 provinces.
- We will be implementing rental housing in Turkey for the first time with TOKİ . We will rent it to our citizens under favorable terms. This housing project will also contribute to our goal of achieving single-digit inflation. We will share project details by the end of October.
- Despite the uncertainties in the global economy, the Turkish economy continues to grow.
There's also an opposition party vowing to cripple the Turkish economy. They fabricated a boycott to evade the judiciary, throwing everyone who didn't support them into this boycott bag. No matter what they did, they failed. Our nation didn't heed their reckless calls to shut down the economy. Their aim with the boycott was to threaten national brands and extort them. By mingling with criminal organizations, they're becoming more and more like them. Can a political party threaten anyone? Under Mr. Özel's leadership, the CHP is gradually losing its political character. The captain, however, cares neither about the ship nor the passengers. He's just trying to get by with empty promises.
"BOOTING THE PRESIDENT IS NOT POLITICS"- We want our opponent to match our quality and caliber. We hope the CHP overcomes this identity crisis as soon as possible. They haven't been able to break their habit of complaining about their own country to foreigners when they go abroad. They haven't even kept their own words. The CHP Chairman's recent visit was a disaster. Booing the popularly elected President of this country isn't politics, and certainly isn't opposition. It befits the main opposition party and its leader to stand guard against this. Domestic politics and foreign policy are separate. We will strive to represent our nation with honor and glory wherever we are, whether at home or abroad.
